NexJ Systems Selected for Health Technology Exchange (HTX) Funding

Ontario's Technologies Show Considerable Promise - HTX's Business Investment Program provides over $1.7 million towards Medical Technologies

Toronto, January 13, 2010 — Dr. Morris (Mickey) Milner, President and CEO of The Health Technology Exchange (HTX), today announced the investment of over $1.7 million towards the development of seven emerging medical technologies.

Now in its fourth round of funding, the Business Investment Program has invested over $4 million towards the program, since the pilot launched in 2006. The program is jointly funded by the Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation, through HTX and the Ontario Centres of Excellence Inc., and the National Research Council's Industrial Research Assistance Program. Funding supports business driven R&D undertaken by a team from a recognized Ontario research institution in collaboration with a partnering company.

Remote Monitoring Platform for Personal Health Management of Chronic Diseases

NexJ Systems' ( www.nexj.com/uhc.aspx) project involves the development and evaluation of a novel remote patient monitoring system which integrates NexJ's eHealth Suite with Bluetooth-enabled medical devices using technology developed at the University Health Network (UHN). The project will enable health coaches and physicians to monitor blood pressure and blood glucose for patients with chronic illnesses, specifically economically challenged diabetic patients, in their home using a BlackBerry device.
The technology is being developed in collaboration with the UHN's Centre for Global eHealth Innovation and with York University.

Toronto, November 5, 2009 - Dr. Vaughan Glover, CEO of the Canadian Association for People-Centred Health (CAPCH) today announced the appointment of Dr. Alex Jadad as Chair of the CAPCH Academic Research Collaborative. CAPCH is a national, non-partisan, independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting the evolution to people-centred health. The Academic Research Collaborative, a program of CAPCH, brings together Canada's leading health and information technology researchers to conduct research into and advance the principles of people-centred eHealth innovation.

Dr. Jadad, who has been dubbed a "human Internet", is ideal for this position. He is a global leader in eHealth research and innovation, and has made it his lifelong mission to develop and leverage information and communication technologies to improve health systems and improve health and wellbeing for all, worldwide. Saskatchewan Cancer Agency Selects NexJ Systems for New Colorectal Cancer Screening Program

The NexJ eHealth Suite and NexJ Disease Screening supports Saskatchewan’s innovative early detection program for colorectal cancer

Toronto, September 22, 2009 — NexJ Systems Inc., a leading provider of people-centred enterprise solutions, announced today that they have been selected by the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency as the technology platform for the new provincial Screening Program for Colorectal Cancer (SPCRC).

The SPCRC is an early detection and prevention program targeted at men and women
in the province between 50-74 years of age. The Saskatchewan Cancer Agency will use
the NexJ Disease Screening application to manage the technical aspects of the screening program, including identifying participants, distributing test kits, and tracking and reporting test results across regions of the province.

Colorectal cancer is the second most common cancer in both men and women, after prostate cancer and breast cancer. The incidence of colorectal cancer in Saskatchewan
has risen nearly 13 per cent in the last 10 years.

NexJ Disease Screening is a new health application that combines the features of several products in the NexJ eHealth Suite: NexJ Provider Health Platform, NexJ Universal Health Connector, and NexJ Registry Server. NexJ Disease Screening seamlessly integrates with the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency’s existing systems to provide a comprehensive solution for managing the entire screening process and, if necessary, coordinating appropriate follow up with patients and providers across the province.

NexJ Contact for Finance delivers impressive statistics when processing workload of over 65,000 concurrent users in IBM performance lab

Toronto (September 18, 2009) — NexJ Systems Inc, a leading provider of customer-centric enterprise solutions for the financial services and insurance industries, today announced that the company has completed benchmark testing in the IBM lab, demonstrating extraordinary performance when subjected to the workload of over 65,000 concurrent online users.

The test results showed that NexJ Contact maintained sub-second response times while processing over 85,000 business transactions per hour, and maintained responsiveness up to a throughput of 250,000 transactions per hour. The benchmark testing was modeled on the most common business transactions and workflows for Financial Advisors.

The NexJ customer that sponsored this test was looking for a CRM solution that could meet their existing user demands and scale effectively to meet their projected demands for peak use and future company growth. NexJ Contact supported over twice the customer’s anticipated data/user volumes. The customer’s projected user demand is typical of the demands placed on the ‘next generation’ of CRM solutions by large financial services companies.
